Tier 1 Bank - Real-Time Data Insights

Project

Our client, an investment bank, was embarking on a major initiative to scale its usage of the KDB+ platform, ultimately with a view to provision highly accurate real-time data insights to the quant trading group.

Service

Q Partners custom-built a tactical solution to improve our client’s short-term delivery velocity, whilst also supporting their ambitions to develop a long-standing FTE footprint across the KDB+ technology team.

Team

We augmented the existing core KDB+ team with 3 Junior- level KDB+ consultants. Each resource was skilled in Q development, and self-sufficient in writing good quality code.

Outcome

QP's custom-designed service enabled the team to significantly improve delivery velocity within 3 months. All 3 consultants converted to FTE with the client in accordance with the pre-agreed conversion timelines.

Tier 1 Bank - KDB+ Security Issue

Project

Our client, an investment bank, faced a pressing security issue in its KDB+ estate. The KDB+ platform, a vital component of their trading operations, was vulnerable to unauthorized access due to weak authentication and authorisation mechanisms.

Q Partners augmented a specialist team of KDB+ and Cyber SME’s to improve the banks KDB+ platform security and resolve the vulnerability that poses a significant threat to sensitive financial data.

We composed a team of 2 KDB+ SMEs and 3 Cyber Security experts focussing on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities and enhancing access controls.

Outcome

QP's bespoke solution significantly strengthened the KBD+ platform’s security by; mitigating unauthorised access, ensuring trading operations remained stable and unaffected, maintained compliance with industry regulations, and upheld the bank's reputation for security and trustworthiness.

Global Hedge Fund - Associate Programme

Project: 

Our client, a leading global hedge fund, sought a vendor to develop a unique Associate Programme for onboarding recent graduates and early-career professionals who could be trained and upskilled in KDB+/Q. 

 

Service: 

Q Partners delivered a custom-built programme that allowed our client to grow their KDB+ capacity more cost-effectively. The tailored solution included exclusive resource pools, stringent vetting, industry-specific training, and uncapped free conversions at the engagement's end.

 

Team: 

A squad of 5 KDB+ associates from Q Partners was strategically deployed across various client programmes, showcasing our adaptability and expertise in meeting diverse needs.
